Managing anhydrous ammonia tanks comes with high risks, for both personnel health and process safety reasons due to its corrosive nature, and presence of heavy vapors. Aqueous ammonia, also called ammonium hydroxide, is a common commercial form of ammonia. With ammonia content lower then 25% it comes with lower risk but to have safe and accurate level measurement is still very important. For measurement of aqueous ammonia, installing non-contacting radar technology is the recommended solution.
